Marie Royston, Johnson City

Marie Royston, 70, of Johnson City passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at her residence.
She was a native of Washington County and a daughter of the late William and Nona Tiner Leonard. Also preceding her in death were three sisters; Kathleen L. Bawgus, Margaret “Toots Crumley and Myrtle L. McQueen and by four brothers; James “Flop” Leonard, James Melvin Leonard, John Leonard and Harris Wayne Leonard.
Mrs. Royston was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Since the age of 6 she had played the piano at her church.
She retired as a Teaching Assistant at Westview Elementary School where she had worked for the Washington County School System.
Mrs. Royston graduated from Science Hill High School and was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include; two sons, Danny Royston and his wife Donna of Limestone and Jason Royston and his wife Mandy of Rogersville; four Grand Children, Devin Trivette, Jeremiah Royston, Sam Royston and Molly Kate Royston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2011 from the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Pastor Pete Tackett and Rev. Jason Royston will officiate.
Burial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday from the Monte Vista Memorial Park. A procession will leave the funeral home for the cemetery at 10:45 am Friday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Thursday.
