Raymond J. Crowe, Johnson City

Mr. Raymond J. Crowe, age 83, of Johnson City, passed away, Wednesday, December 21, in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Mr. Crowe was a native of Washington County and had lived in Texas, Kingsport, Gray and Johnson City. He was the son of the late Zackery Crowe and Robert and Verna Ford Brown.
Mr. Crowe was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He owned and operated a franchise of Filter Queen Sales and Services; he also had worked a few years at the Kingsport Press. He was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his loving wife of sixty years Jean J. Crowe of the home; adopted sister, Teresa King and husband Lewis of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service for Mr. Raymond J. Crowe will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Rev. Gary Seaman and Rev. Gene Lasley will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Monte Vest, Brock Graham, Gail Jones, Terry Graybeal, Willard Davis, Scott Buckingham, Kirk Anderson and George Parris. Honorary pallbearers will be Garnie Bird, Weldon Ford, Tommy Hill, Harold Jordan, Roy Snyder, Charlie Holly, Gene Harbin, and Jeff Jordan. The Boone Dam Post# 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military rights. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 AM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, P.O.Box 8247, Gray Tn. 37615.
