William ‘Bill’ Yarber, Rogersville

ROGERSVILLE — William “Bill” Yarber, age 62, passed away at his home in Rogersville on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren H. Yarber and Lura Hyter Yarber; brother, Earl Yarber; sister, Shirley Yarber Patterson; and a granddaughter, Leigh Anna Yarber.
Mr. Yarber is survived by his three sons, Gregory B. (Leslie) Yarber, of Kingsport, Brandon S. (Amanda) Yarber, of Bristol, and William D. Yarber and fiancé, Alexandria Thacker, of Rogersville. Mr. Yarber is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandon Yarber II, Sara Yarber and Hannah Yarber. He is also survived by his three brothers, Warren L. Yarber, US Navy, of Bristol, Ralph E. Yarber, US Army, of Knoxville, and Preston A. Yarber, US Army, of Rogersville; and his niece, Erin Yarber.
Mr. Yarber served in the US military for ten years. He was a combat veteran of Vietnam, where he was awarded several medals including a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Medical Badge, Army Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal with two service stripes and four overseas service bars. Bill was an outstanding soldier with an excellent service record. He was very proud to have served his country. After his service in the military, Bill graduated from Northeast State.
He was a machinist and transport owner operator.
Military graveside services will be on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Mountain Home Veterans Cemetery, Johnson City, Tennessee at 1:00 PM.
