Darrell Harrell, Elizabethton

ELIZABETHTON — Darrell Wayne Harrell, age 52, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Melvin and Wanda Jean Lyons Harrell. Mr. Harrell enjoyed fishing and painting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stacy Dwayne Harrell.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Harrell, Elizabethton; four daughters, Jessica Arquette, Corrina Harrell, Tiffany Irick and Miranda Cooter, all of Elizabethton; two sons, Brandon Harrell and Zachery Harrell, both of Elizabethton; two granddaughters, Hayle Arquette and Kaitlyn Arquette, both of Elizabethton; two grandsons, Hunter Irick and Trevor Irick, both of Elizabethton; sister, Patricia Stanley, Elizabethton; brother, Melvin Harrell Jr., Elizabethton; stepsister, Donna Carol, Elizabethton; stepbrother, Bobby Joe, Hampton; stepmother, Wilma Hill, Hampton; and mother-in-law, Wilma Lyons, Elizabethton; and niece, Rebecca Stanley.
The funeral service for Mr. Harrell will be conducted at 7 PM Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Pastor David Lang officiating.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday from 5 PM until 7 PM prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence at any time.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 AM Friday, December 23, 2011, in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Clyde Feathers, Bobby Carr, Joe Hodge, Barry Edney, Frank Arquette Jr. and Rick Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Oliver, Andrew Arnold, Bobby Irick Jr., Dallas Hartley Sr., and Jeff Croft. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are ask to meet at the funeral home on Friday, December 23, at 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
It was Mr. Harrell’s request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to his wife and family @ P.O. Box 1528, Elizabethton, TN 37644.
