Charlie White, Erwin

ERWIN — Charlie White, age 85, of Erwin, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 13, 2011.
He was born in Miami, FL, on August 26, 1926. He was the son of the late Major Alexander and Annie J. White. He moved from Miami, FL, in 1962 to Maryland and worked as a bookbinder. He retired from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. He was a retired member of the Printing and Bookbinding Union Local # 4-B. He moved to Erwin in 1988 and made his home there.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howell, Levy, Charles Reed, James and John White; and one sister, Mary D. Forbes; and a granddaughter, Stacy D. Schroeppel.
Charlie was married to his devoted and loving wife, Carolyn J. White, for 60 years. He had 3 daughters, Darlene J. and Stephen Schroeppel, of Malden, MO, Gail M. and Ernest Lance, of Erwin, TN, Missy L. and Bob Schwartz, of Sykesville, MD; and one son, Charlie M. and Julie White, of Erwin, TN. He had 12 grandchildren, Stephen and Barbara Schroeppel of Carbondale, IL, Angela and Jeffery Keedy, of Newbern, TN, Daniel Lance, of Tampa, FL, Lisa and Scott Turcotte, of Tampa, FL, Joshua White, of Erwin, TN, Adam White, of Johnson City, TN, Rebekah and Michael Edens, of Elizabethton, TN, David White, of Erwin, TN, Jerimi Schwartz, of Preston, MD, Jessica and Beau Hicks, of Johnson City, TN, and Nicole Seiler, of Westminster, MD. He also had 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011, at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. Vocal selections will be under the direction of Larry Pate.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 6:00 PM until service time.
Everyone will meet at Washington County Memory Gardens for the 11:00 AM committal service on Saturday, December 17, 2011. Serving as active pallbearers will be Mr. White’s grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. White’s sons-in-law.
