Robert Haney Sr., JOHNSON CITY

Robert Lee Haney Sr., 84, of the Memorial Park Community and formerly of Greene County, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011, at the Hermitage Health Center, Elizabethton.
A native of Washington County, he was the son of the late Albert & Ester Davis Haney. Mr. Haney was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace Maupin Haney; his son, Robert Haney Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth Jordan.
Mr. Haney is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Rex Williams and Juanita Haney, all of Johnson City; five grandchildren, Nikki McAllister, Summer Fields, Misty O’Dell, Lindsey Mussard and Robert Cody Haney; and four great-grandchildren, Zoey Gilliam, Olivia Fields, Carrie McAllister and James “Max” Fields. Several special friends, nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Robert Lee Haney Sr. will be conducted on Monday, December 12, 2011, at 7:00 PM in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Revered Yates officiating.
The family will greet friends Monday in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 PM till the service hour.
A Military Committal and Interment service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Washington County Memory Gardens. Everyone is asked to meet the family at 10:30 AM at the funeral home on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Lawrence Fields, Derek Mussard, Jason McAllister, Wayne Jordan, Gene Jordan and Rex Williams. Honorary Pallbearer is Robert Cody Haney.
The family would like to say “Thank You” to the ICU Nursing Staff and Sitters at the VA Medical Center, the Staff at Hermitage Health Center and to Caris Hospice for the love and support given to Mr. Haney and the family.
