Haskel Pierce, Bristol, Va.

BRISTOL, Va. — Haskel Louis Pierce, age 93, of Bristol, VA, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011, at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, VA.
He was born June 15, 1918, in Bluff City, TN, a son of the late Landon and Sally Blevins Pierce. Haskel worked for Raytheon Industries and was a member of North Bristol Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran, serving in WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Pauline Pierce; and his son, Haskel Mark Pierce.
Survivors include: Son: William Dennis Pierce and wife, Joan; Grandchildren: Emily Rector and husband, Richard, Todd Pierce and wife, Suzette, Stephanie White and husband, Andy, and Damon Pierce; Six Great-Grandchildren; Niece: Carolyn Anderson.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 3:00 PM in the Mountain View Cemetery with the Honor Guard Chaplain officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospice Care.
