Eldean Mitchell, Johnson City

Eldean Munday Mitchell, 87, Johnson City, entered into rest, Monday, December 6, 2011, at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law.
Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Ashe County, NC, and had lived most of her life in Washington County. She was a daughter of the late Marion and Frances Hayworth Munday and was also preceded in death by her husband, Carson James Mitchell; one son, Paul Mitchell; two sisters; and eight brothers.
Mrs. Mitchell was retired from Appalachian Christian Village. She was a member of Rich Acres Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Stout and husband, Bennie, Telford; daughter-in-law, Sharon Mitchell, Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Gladys Shelton, Boone, NC; grandchildren, Kevin Stout, Keith Stout, Jeffrey, Chris, Anthony and Gregory Mitchell and Jennifer Mitchell; nine great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Mitchell will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2011, from the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services. Reverend Kenneth Grindstaff will officiate.
Committal services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Roselawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be R.C. Bennett, Gary Gilley, Bill Lathem, Wayne Ford, Kevin Stout and Keith Stout. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Munday, Randall Munday, Allen Shelton and Joe Scott.
