Sue Wilkinson, Johnson City

Sue Wilkinson, age 70, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A lifelong native of Johnson City and Washington County, TN, she was a daughter of the late William and Cora Lee Copas Ward. Mrs. Wilkinson attended Keystone Freewill Baptist Church and retired from the Johnson City Medical Center as a Ward Clerk in the Emergency Department. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Wilkinson in 1999; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Ward; brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Edwards.
Survivors include a sister, Jean Edwards, Johnson City; two brothers, Bill Ward, Gray, Fred Ward, Johnson City; two Godsons, Chad and Chris Hall; brother-in-law, Tom Wilkinson and wife Betty; five nephews, Jason Wilkinson, Knoxville, Lee Ward, Kingsport, Eric Ward, Johnson City, Charles A. Edward II, Knoxville, and Henry Ward, Knoxville; one niece, Emily Ward, Johnson City; special caregiver, Estelle Buchanan.
The funeral service for Mrs. Wilkinson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Greer and Rev. Terry Jones officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Brenda Deloach. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
