Maine Nave, Elizabethton

Mr. Maine R. Nave, 89, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord, on Sunday December 4, 2011 at Hermitage Health Center following and extended illness.
He was the son of the late Henry and Myrtle Stout Nave and was born in Carter County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Weinkam and a half-sister, Cora Colbert.
Mr. Nave was a veteran of WWII having served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Mr. Nave was retired from Bemberg Corporation following thirty years of service. He was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Nave is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sonja and Jim Ferguson and Geri and Kane Williams, all of Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Betty Nave, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Wendy Campbell and her husband, Rick, Telford; Rev. Jamie Ferguson and his wife, Tracey, Elizabethton; Dana Williams, Elizabethton; a step-granddaughter, Leeza Pettit, FL; two very special great- grandchildren, Andrew David Ferguson and Abigail Grace Ferguson, both of Elizabethton; a sister, Edith Potter, Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Quinn Nave and his wife, Mae, Elizabethton; Albert Nave and his wife, Virginia, Elizabethton; a half-brother, Roger Nave, Gray; three half-sisters, Wanda Taylor and her husband, Max, Johnson City; Louella Randolph and her husband, Charles, Elizabethton; and Mary Ann Stout, Kingsport. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The Celebration of Life service for Mr. Nave will be conducted on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Dr. Bill Duncan and Rev. Jamie Ferguson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Sue Bowers. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service and at the residence of a daughter, Sonja Ferguson 164 Price Road, Elizabethton or a son, Edwin Nave, 132 Creek Side Drive, Elizabethton at other times.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church, Lawrence Hodge and Cecil Eggers. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post #49. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
