Mary Gage, Johnson City

Mary Emma Smith Gage, age 84, of Johnson City, passed away at Life Care Center of Gray after a lengthy illness.
She was a daughter of the late Walter C. and Cordia Ellen Good Smith and was a member of Boone Trail Baptist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper at King’s Department Store until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. “Charlie” Gage; one step-son, Don Gage; one step-daughter, Peggy Wilhelm; siblings, Viola Smith White, Geneva Smith Tester, Henrietta Smith Sluder, Jennings Smith, M.D. Smith, Paul Smith, Willie Smith, Clarence Smith, Walter A. Good, Ray Shipley and Minnie Shipley Estes.
Mary is survived by one brother, Lee Roy Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 4, 2011, from 3-5 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel and anytime at the home of her brother, 236 Buckingham Rd., Gray.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. with Pastor Ronnie Bashears officiating.
Graveside services will be held Monday morning at 10 a.m. in the Gray Cemetery.
