Harley Rogers, Erwin

ERWIN — Harley Neil Rogers, age 56, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center after a Heart Attack.
Mr. Rogers was born on January 23, 1956, in Washington County, TN. He was the son of Nancy Freeman Rogers, of Erwin, and the late Jacob H. Rogers. Mr. Rogers was self employed.
Harley loved the outdoors, he loved fishing and enjoyed his life on the Nolichucky River. Building his tree house and sharing it with his friends and family was his passion.
In addition to his Father, Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Rogers is survived by: Sisters: Beverly Rogers Garland and her husband, Rondale, of Chuckey, Sandra Rogers Hopson, of Erwin; Nephew: Eric Foster and his Fiancé, Ashley, of Erwin; Nieces: Chasty Garland King, of Chuckey, and her friend, Daniel Ragan, DeAnna Garland Cox and her husband, Dustin, of Chuckey, Leslie Foster, of Erwin; Great Nieces and Nephews: Jordon King, Drake Cox, Macy Cox, Hudson Cox, Dorian Foster, Andrew Foster and Lucas Foster; Great Aunts: Edith Peters, Florine Freeman and Dorothy Freeman.
The family would like to thank Ronnie (Red) Casey for his help during this time, and for his special friendship.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011. at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Rev. Otis Banks will open the service and Br. Michael Rice and Br. Donnie Roberts will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by the women of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 5:00 PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home.
The Graveside Committal Service will be Sunday, December 4, 2011. at 2:00 PM in the Seviers Methodist Church Cemetery, Highway 107, Jonesborough, TN. Those attending the Graveside Service are asked to meet at Valley Funeral Home by 1:30 PM on Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
