Bobby Luttrell, Kingsport

KINGSPORT — Bobby Lee Luttrell, 76, died peacefully on November 28 after a brave battle with cancer.
Bob was born in Bristol, TN, and was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, TN. He was the son of the late Lindsey Delaney Luttrell and Carrie Mae Luttrell.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bonnie Louise Hollar; and by his infant sister, Peggy Ann Luttrell.
Bob was a graduate of Bristol Tennessee High School and East Tennessee State University. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Bob was a quiet, kind and gentle person. His most important roles were as husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He was an accomplished gardener, receiving the Kingsport Beautification Award. His last years were filled with the love of his grandchildren, and sharing his passion of gardening with family, friends, and neighbors.
Bob is survived by his son, Stephen L. Luttrell and his wife, Tina Luttrell, and two grandchildren, Noah Cole and Alina Louise, of Asheville, NC. In addition, his two brothers, Lewis Luttrell, of Asheville, NC, and Donald Luttrell and his wife, Kathleen, of Johnson City, TN, and his two sisters, Evelyn Luttrell and Charlotte McQuary, of Johnson City, TN. Also two special nieces, Caroline Darden and her husband, Bill, and Jennifer Wynd and her husband, Bruce, and other loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob Luttrell’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 3, at East Lawn Funeral Home in Kingsport.
Burial will follow the service.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM prior to the service.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may donate to their local Hospice.
