Rev. Clifford Andrew Greer, Jonesborough

Rev. Clifford Andrew Greer, age 68, of Jonesborough, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at his home following a brief illness.
Rev. Greer was a minister with the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church for 25 years from 1968 to 1988. He was the pastor for Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, Bloomingdale United Methodist Church, Max Meadows United Methodist Church, Riner United Methodist Church and Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, trains, railroads and being at the ocean.
Rev. Greer was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie Clifford Greer and Pearl Spears Greer; Brothers: Dallas Eugene Greer and Wallace Louis Greer; Sister: Nellie Kate Fletcher and Myrtle June Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mrs. Georgia Housewright Greer, of the home, His son, Jeffery Dean Greer, of Jonesborough; Daughter, Judy Dawn Greer, of Knoxville; Sister, Charlene Castle, Kingston, TN; Sister-in-laws; Freda Greer and Dexal Greer both of Kingsport; Several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be conducted 8 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Pasqua officiating. Music will be provided by his son, Jeffery Dean Greer.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410.
