Wray Stanbery, Johnson City

Mr. Wray Stanbery, 74, Johnson City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 20, 2011, at his residence.
He was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Charles and Eula Robison Stanbery. He was also preceded in death by a twin at birth; a son, Bobby Dean Burnett, in 1998; and a son-in-law, Darrol Sabin, in June 2011.
Mr. Stanbery was a Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict from 1955 to 1958.
He was a retired plumber of Local 290 Portland, Oregon, after 42 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Medford, Oregon.
Mr. Stanbery was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Burnett Stanbery, of the home; two daughters, Shari Sabin and Tina (Mike) Derryberry, both of Medford, Oregon; two sons, Ben (Trish) Burnett, Senoia, Georgia, Russell (Whitnany) Stewart, Medford, Oregon; three sisters, Barbara Green, Sacramento, Cal., Dorothy (Tex) Murray and Shirley (Freddie) Bennett, both of Johnson City, Tenn.; 16 Grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special and close friend, Paul Saylor; and the friends of Greenwood Baptist Church.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church with Pastor Harold McNabb officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 till 2 p.m. prior to the service.
The family would like to thank Caris Health Care for their wonderful care and support and Dr. Elisabet Rainey at the Mountain Home Veterans Administration.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Greenwood Baptist Church building fund, 102 Elliott and Scott Cir., Johnson City, or Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home to assist in funeral expense.
