Betty Johnson, age 66, of Jonesborough, TN, passed away suddenly Friday night in the Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee from a heart attack.
Born in Alva, KY, May 30, 1945, she grew up in the Black Star Community, a mining town in Harlan County Kentucky. She was a long-time resident of both the Barbourville Nursing Home in Barbourville, KY, and the Four Oaks Nursing Home in Jonesborough, TN. A Southern Baptist, she was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gray, KY.
Her parents Hubert and Mildred Johnson preceded her in death.
She is survived by her devoted sister Kelly and husband Alan Hensley of Jonesborough, TN; a nephew, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, all to mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, at the Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master St., Corbin, KY.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Roach officiating.
