Preston ‘Tom’ Osborne, Johnson City

Mr. Preston Harold “Tom” Osborne, age 70, of Johnson City, passed away, Thursday, November 17, 2011, in the Quillen VA Medical Center.
Mr. Osborne was a native of Washington County who had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late Robert Osborne and Viola Hale Osborne.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, Wade Osborne and Robert Osborne, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Osborne was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved to work outdoors and play with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: his loving wife of forty years, Sue Gilliam Osborne, of the home; two daughters, Loretta Bowers and her husband, Robert, of Chattanooga, Tn., and Sundae Pope, of Johnson City; four sisters, Irene Lawson, Neva Riddle, Greta Blevins and Loretta Williams; four grandchildren, Robert Carl Bowers II, Cassie Bowers, Taylor Pope and Keira Pope; three great grandchildren, Trey Bowers, Sara Ford and Connor Snodgrass; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Preston Harold “Tom” Osborne will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, November 20, 2011, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Brother Everett Lett will officiate.
The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military rights. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Monday to go in procession.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Washington County EMS, 296 Wesley Street, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
