Debbie Vance, Unicoi

UNICOI — Debbie Hughes Vance, age 56, 226 Norris Road, Unicoi, passed away Monday evening, November 14, 2011, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was a native of Mitchell County having resided in Unicoi County for most of her life. Ms. Vance is a daughter of Brookie Miller Hughes, Bakersville, NC, and the late Carl Hughes.
Debbie was a loving and devoted mother and mamaw. She was of the Baptist faith.
Other than her mother, Ms. Vance is survived by one son, Michael S. Hughes and wife, Beth, Limestone; two daughters: Renee Tilson and husband, Rocky, Nicki Clouse and, husband Adam, all of Erwin; Two grandchildren: Maci Hughes, Erwin, and Tyler Clouse, Erwin; two brothers: Benny Hughes and wife Brenda, and Timmy K. Hughes, all of Unicoi; two sisters: Teresa Hughes, Bakersville, NC, and Regina Hughes, Burnsville, NC; two aunts; and several cousins also survive.
Funeral service for Debbie Hughes Vance will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 17, 2011, in the chapel of Unicoi Funeral Home with Reverend Dallas Gregg officiating. Special music will be provided by Janet Morrow and daughters.
Committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 18, 2011, in the Buladean Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those attending the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery not later than 10:45 A.M. Friday.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until service time Thursday evening and other times at the residence of her brother, Benny Hughes, 1016 Old Iron Mountain Road, Unicoi.
