Burdette Arrowood, Blountville

BLOUNTVILLE — Mr. Burdette Douglas Arrowood, age 82, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Greystone Health Care Center.
Mr. Arrowood was a native of Washington County and son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Arrowood. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arrowood was also preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Mae Ragsdale.
He was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church.
Mr. Arrowood was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a Truck Driver for 40 years.
He was a member of the Teamsters Joint Council #83 of Virginia.
Survivors include a step-daughter; four step-sons; a sister and brother-in-law, Ida & Clyde Groover, Virginia; close friends, Joel & Carrie Coggins and family, Jonesborough; several nephews and nieces; and special pet, “Coco.”
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Dwight Hobbs.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2011, at Cherokee Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Barnes, Quincy Burgess, Shannon Chase and Berry Coggins. Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Coggins and Harold Lloyd.
