Elmer Tipton, Johnson City

Elmer “E.B.” Tipton, 66, 402 S. North St., Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
E.B. was an Erwin native and a son of the late Elmer L. and Beatrice White Tipton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Danny Baucom, a sister, Christine Longcrier, and his maternal grandparents, Blaine and Myrtle White.
E.B. is survived by his wife, Ruby Tipton; his son, Johnny Tipton, Johnson City; his step-daughter, Debbie Surcey, Blountville; four brothers, Danny Tipton and wife Pansy, Johnson City, Mike Tipton and wife Teresa, Martinsville, VA, Bobby Baucom and wife Sue, and Earl Baucom, all of Erwin; five sisters, Joann Higgins Tipton, Telford, Patricia Barnes Tipton and Carolyn Harrell Tipton, both of Jonesborough, Linda Arnett Tipton, and Barbara Madison and husband Eric, all of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Dylan and Matthew Tipton, and Nicole Surcey; several aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services are incomplete and will be held at a later date.
