Franklin D. Ball, Jonesborough

Franklin D. Ball, age 75, of Bacon Rd. Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Lifecare Center of Gray, with his loving family by his side.
He was a son of the late Mitchell and Sarah Brunty Ball – Hicks and was born in Canada, Kentucky but spent most of his life in London, Kentucky.
Mr. Ball was a baker and was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church where he had taught Senior Adult Sunday School Class until his illness. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Mr. Ball is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Harrison Gilbert – Sulphur Springs Community and Peggy and Cliff Ambrose of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Charles Ball of London, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Angela Keith, Kayla Gilbert, Benjamin Gilbert, Jennifer Mosby, Jason Cox, and Mendy Cope; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and one aunt.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 11 – 1 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jon Reed officiating. Gray Funeral Home is proud to serve the family of Mr. Franklin D. Ball. 423-477-3171 or 239-6622
