Worley Lane, Kingsport

KINGSPORT — Worley R. Lane, 87, of Kingsport, died Saturday morning, November 12, 2011, at Indian Path Medical Center.
Born April 30, 1924, in Daniel Boone, Virginia, he had lived in Kingsport most of his life. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Worley was an artist and sign painter most of his life.
Worley attended Orebank Methodist Church. He was a life time member of the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Edward Lane and Cora Babb Lane; his wife, Reba Quillen Lane; his son, Val Lane; and two brothers, John Calvin Lane and Ernest Edward Lane Jr.
Surviving are his daughter, Vera Lane Neeley, of Kingsport; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and three sisters, Mildred Sampson, of Kingsport, Thelma Kendrick and husband, Robert, of Kingsport, and Wanda Webb and husband, Roy, of Jonesborough.
Military graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with the American Legion Posts #3/265 officiating.
