Edward Jones, Elizabethton

ELIZABETHTON — Edward Bryant Jones, 67, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday November 12, 2011, in the Life Care Center following an extended illness.
A native of Beech Mountain, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Donald and Ina Oakes Jones. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. He was retired due to disability from General Shale. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ex-wife: Betty Jones; a son: Eddie Bryant Jones; three brothers: Gurnie, George and Willie Jones; and a sister: Vertie Jones.
Survivors include Two Daughters: Sonia Grant, Elizabethton, and Becky Lyons, Johnson City; A step-daughter: Treasa Shell, Elizabethton; A step-son: Eddie Townsend, Tacoma, Washington; 4 Grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; Three Sisters: Eula Carver and husband, Ben, Piney Flats, Clara Shook, Elizabethton, and Estel Honeycutt, Johnson City; A Brother: Wade Jones and wife, Billie, Elizabethton; Several Nieces & Nephews.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2011, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Vivian Clark for all her excellent care.
It was his wish to be cremated.
