Brenda Phipps, Johnson City

Brenda Gail Robertson Phipps, 66, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at her residence.
Born in Johnson City, she was the daughter of Lois Cole Robertson and the late Clarence Robertson.
Brenda loved her family, enjoyed spending time with them and tracing her genealogy. She attended East Tennessee State University. Brenda was the founder of Washington County Memory Gardens and was also past President of the Cemetery Association of Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband of forty six years: Jack Phipps; daughters: Gayla Bolton and husband, John, Johnson City, Paula Schumpert and husband, Derrill, Tega Cay, SC; grandchildren: Johnny Bolton, Wesley Bolton, Trey Schumpert, Trent Schumpert; brother-in-law: Brownie Phipps and wife, Brenda; sister-in-law: Diane Nave and husband, Richard; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Joe Hall, Terry Brown and Karl Bond.
A private Committal Service will be held on Saturday at Washington County Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent to the American Lung Association of TN, One Vantage Way, Suite B130, Nashville, TN 37228.
