Thomas Martin Jr., Johnson City

Mr. Thomas S. Martin Jr., age 76, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011, in the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Martin was a native of Elizabethton who had lived in Vienna, Virginia, for thirty years and had lived in Johnson City since 1993. He was the son of the late Thomas Sizemore Martin Sr. and Helen Roberta Shell Martin.
Mr. Martin received a B.S. in Mathematics from East Tennessee State University. He retired from the U.S. government in 1993 as a Computer Specialist. He was a member of the East Unaka Christian Church.
Survivors include: one sister, Ruth Martin Lundy, of Johnson City; one brother, Fred Lane Martin and his wife, Diane, of Carrollton, Georgia; two nieces, Penny Ogletree, of Kingsport, and Alison Martin, of Carrollton, Georgia; one nephew, Lanny Martin, of Knoxville.
The funeral service for Mr. Thomas S. Martin Jr. will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, November 14, 2011, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Wayne Emery will officiate.
The graveside committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be the members of the East Unaka Christian Church.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the East Unaka Christian Church, 1201 East Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
