Danny Greear, Gray

Danny Eugene Greear, 56, 402 Free Hill Road, Gray, passed away Friday, November 4, 2011, at his residence.
He was a native of Wise County, Virginia, and had lived in Washington County for several years.
Mr. Greear was a son of Chester Eugene Greear, of Kingsport, and Pauline Harper, of Piney Flats.
He was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Fountain of Life Church. Mr. Greear was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was very passionate about his family and loved Harley-Davidsons, fishing and living life to the fullest.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Teresa Greear; two sons, Jacob Daniel Greear and Dustin Eugene Greear, both of Gray; two grandchildren, Anthony Parsons Greear and Tiffany Renee Greear, of Gray; two sisters, Patricia Begley and Debbie Conkin, both of Kingsport; special friends, Mike Thomas and Buck Waters; also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Greear will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2011, in the Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, with the Rev. Johnny Persinger officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Boone Dam VFW Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jacob and Dustin Greear, Anthony Carroll, Mike Thomas, Buck Waters, Michael Begley, Jason Conkin and Leroy Bowser.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 noon until service time.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expense.
