Faye Hughes, Erwin

Faye Hughes, 75, 890 Rock Creek Road, Sunny Crest Apartments, Erwin, went home to be with the Lord on M o n d ay, November 7, 2011 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

Faye was a daughter of the Late Charles and Leona Bennett Whaley, and was a member of Day of Deliverance Church in Johnson City. Faye was a homemaker and loved to care for others. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Huskins.

Faye is survived by: Children: Fred and Sara Hughes of Piney Flats; Deborah Hughes Hampton of Johnson City; Talmadge and Sharon Hughes of Johnson City; Tim and Wanda Hughes of Erwin; Ray Scott Hughes of Erwin; Clyde, Jr. and Bridget Hughes of Erwin; Phillip and Angie Hughes of Greeneville; Boyd and Robin Hughes of Erwin; Allen Hughes of Erwin; Sisters: Christine Dlouhy; Martha Miller and H. G. Griffith; Brother: Dennis and Ada Whaley; Grandchildren: Justin Allen Hughes, Amy Nicole Tipton, Kelli Diane Woodward, Brittany Leona McKinney, Christal Renee Engle, Vincent Price, Junior Price, Kayla Regina Cooper, Randall Cooper, Daniel Cooper, Brandon Hughes, Desiree’ Hughes, Whitney Hughes, Austin Hughes; Great Grandchildren: Madison and Jacob McKinney, Aalyah and Ryan Engle; And several Nieces and Nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 8PM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Pastor Dewey Ward will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until service time on Wednesday and other times at the home of Tim and Wanda Hughes, 153 Sycamore St. in Erwin.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Garland Cemetery in Erwin. Faye’s 8 sons will serve as pallbearers. Those attending the graveside services are asked to meet at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday by 10:30 AM to go in procession to Garland Cemetery.
