Byrl McKinney, Hampton

Byrl McKinney, 88, 580 Piney Grove Road, Hampton went home to be with his Lord Monday November 7, 2011 in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James L. and Josie McKinney.
Byrl served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation.
He was a Charter Member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for 50 years.
He was a member of the Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge # 556, Jericho Temple and the Scottish Rite.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Bianca Campbell, his brothers: B.F. McKinney, Sr., Brice McKinney, Barney McKinney, Billy McKinney and Belva McKinney. A daughter-in-law: Sharon McKinney.
Survivors include his wife of sixty nine years Aileen Woodby McKinney. One Daughter & Son-in-Law: Sharon & Larry Emmert, Elizabethton. Two Sons & One Daughter-in-Law: Larry H. McKinney and Sam & Pat McKinney all of Hampton. Two Granddaughters & their spouses: Julia & Vaughn Simerly, Hampton and Lori & Ben Wilson, Elizabethton. One Grandson: Todd McKinney, Hampton, Two Great Grandchildren: Loren Watson,Elizabethton, and Justin Simerly, Hampton.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. B.F. McKinney, Jr., and Rev. Jim Holtsclaw officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the McKinney Cemetery. Music will be provided by the Believers Fellowship Church Quartet. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Thursday will be: Todd McKinney, Ben Watson, Vaughn Simerly, Jr., Dannie McKinney, Barney McKinney, Kinney McKinney and Mike Teague. Honorary pallbearers will be his church family, friends and neighbors, the staff of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center and the Staff of Ivy Hall Hall Nursing Home. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion & Tennessee National Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
