Gail Hensley Rowland, Gray

Gail Hensley Rowland, 68, Gray, entered into rest, following a lengthy battle with ALS “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” Saturday, November 5, 2011 at her residence.
Ms. Rowland was a native of Mars Hill, NC and had lived in East Tennessee most of her life.
She was a daughter of the late Fred and Bessie Ramsey Bryan.
Ms. Rowland was a retired from Washington County School System as a teacher and also taught for 27 years at Mary Hughes School in Sullivan County.
She was a member of Piney Flats United Methodist Church.
Ms. Rowland leaves two daughters, Sherry Box and husband, Stephen, Blountville, TN, Amber Hensley, Johns Island, SC; grandchildren, Austin, Meredith and Audrey Box, Blountville, TN, Rachel Suddath and husband, Josh, Cordova, TN; stepson, Grant Rowland III and wife, Tiffany, Johnson City; step grandchildren, Eden, Luke and Ally Rowland; sisters, June Buckner, Asheboro, NC and Earlene Hensley and husband, Ben Lee, Burnsville, NC; brothers, Edwin Bryan and wife, Loretta, Marion, NC and Roy Bryan, Augusta, GA and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City, TN. Reverend Joey Manis and Reverend Mack Houston will officiate. Music will be provided by Dexter Shepherd, Maddie Gilmer, Cody Gilmer and Jeremiah Pickard. A private entombment will be held at Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roger Ellis, Howard Edwards, John Mason, Bryan Torbett, Bill Hodge, Brett Hodge, Bennie Curd, Sam Baird and Jerry Pierce. Friends may call at the home of her daughter, Sherry Box, 144 Grande Harbor Way, Blountville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Piney Flats United Methodist Church, 225 Methodist Church Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686 or Limestone United Methodist Church, WSCS Lunch Program, 189 Opie Arnold Road, Limestone, TN 37681.
