William Kitts, JONESBOROUGH

William D. “W.D.” Kitts, 68, of Jonesborough, TN, formerly of South Point, OH, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, in Pekin Hospital in Pekin, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Cecil Lester and Bro. Taylor Pauley officiating.
Burial will follow with military honors at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH.
William was born February 20, 1943, in Chesapeake, OH, a son of the late Williard Ray and Hazel Pauline Whitley Kitts. He was a retired turbine mechanic with BP in Prudhoe Bay, AK, and an active member of PIney Flats First Baptist Church in Piney Flats, TN, and served over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam.
William is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julia Leighty Kitts; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Steven Ray, of IL, and Stephanie and Brad Bergemann, of WV; four grandsons, Jared, Justin and Jacob Ray and Bryant Bergemann, of WV; and four sisters, Wilma Schwades, Sally Wells, Marlene Sue Hartman and Tammy Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Keith Pauley, Matthew Pauley, Steven Ray, Brad Bergemann, Bryant Bergemann and Jared Ray. Honorary Pallbearer will be Justin Ray.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Piney Flats First Baptist Church, 100 Cherry St., Piney Flats, TN 37686.
