Ray Armentrout, Johnson City

Mr. Ray L. Armentrout, age 51, Greene Valley Developmental Center, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Armentrout was a native of Washington County and son of the late Richard Leonard & Mary Lucy Slagle Armentrout.
Mr. Armentrout attended Limestone Church of the Brethren in his early childhood years.
He enjoyed farming and gardening, John Deere Tractors, attending area church services and southern gospel music. He also enjoyed visiting his sister at the beach.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul & Beverly Armentrout, Limestone, and Keith & Charlene Armentrout, Salisbury, MD; one sister and brother-in-law, Edna & Steve Hale, Florence, SC; nephews and nieces, David Armentrout, Gina Grizzle, Kevin Armentrout and Sara Armentrout; four great nephews and nieces; several cousins; extended family, the staff & residents of Greene Valley Developmental Center.
The Armentrout family would like to extend very special thanks to Greene Valley Developmental Center for their wonderful care given to Ray over the past 20 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Griffith officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011, at Limestone Church of Brethren Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family & friends.
