Mary Jane Crane, Johnson City

Mary Jane Bailey Crane, 82, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 27, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Crane was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County.
She was a daughter of the late Arcemus William and Mamie Edwards Bailey and was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Haden Crane; three brothers; and three sisters.
She attended Unaka Avenue Baptist Church and the Faithful Workers Class.
Mrs. Crane enjoyed reading and quilting and loved spending time with her family. She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with.
Mary worked at the Johnson City hospital and area nursing homes, before becoming a caregiver herself for many years.
She leaves three daughters, Rena Quillen and husband, Maurice, Talbott, TN, Lena Tittle and husband, Terry, Jonesborough, and Donna Crane, Johnson City; two sons, Leon Crane and friend, Dana, Powell, TN, and Roy G. Crane and wife, Debbie, Jonesborough; two sisters, Anza Hall and Arlene Mitchell, both of Limestone; one brother, Winfred Bailey, Jonesborough; six grandchildren, Geoff Newton and wife, Daria, Melissa Krell, Michelle Cravens and husband, Brett, John Krell and wife, Mary Ann, J.R. Crane and friend, Lisa, Frank Crane and wife, Carrie; eight great grandchildren, Josh Smith, Samantha Cravens, Arran Kerr, Grace, Hope and Luke Krell, Alyssa Newton and Mason Crane; and special family friend, Mickie Crislip.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Sunrise Chapel at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services on Saturday, October 29, 2011.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mary will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Maurice Quillen and Reverend Dale Mitchell officiating.
A Graveside and Committal service will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Mrs. Crane’s grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Faithful Workers Class at Unaka Avenue Baptist Church, the nurses of Mountain States Hospice and Dr. Ellen Nave.
