Robert Hensley, Jonesborough

Mr. Robert M. Hensley, age 75, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Hensley was a native of Washington County and son of the late Dewey & Nora Bass Hensley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hensley was also preceded in death by first wife, Peggy Woody Hensley; second wife, Margaret Hensley; one brother, Bill Hensley; and two sisters, Rebecca Blankenship and Mildred Couch.
He was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Hensley retired from the Washington County Highway Department after 27 years of service.
Mr. Hensley enjoyed NASCAR, old westerns and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia “Tina” Burns Hensley, Jonesborough; children, Robbie Hensley Jr. (Wendy), Lesia Hensley, Barry Hensley (Christy), Roger Hensley (Shaunita) and Joy Hensley; grandchildren, Jason Hensley, Ashley Hensley (Ross), Megan Hensley, Shai Ann Cole, Dakota Cole, Danta Whitten and Jordan Hensley; siblings, Virginia Williams, Jake Hensley, Louise Saults and Ray Hensley; two great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Lower officiating.
Interment will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Arrowood, Terry Hensley, Scotty Hensley, Jamie McCray, Jean Massengil and Kennedy Carol. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Rupert, Mike Peck and Steve Coffman.
