BLOUNTVILLE — Louise Galliher Phillippie, age 83, of Blountville, TN, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She was born February 17, 1928, in Elizabethton, TN, a daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Nellie Anderson Galliher. She was a lifelong resident of the Blountville and Bristol area and was an avid gardener.
Louise was a retired owner and operator of Bassett’s Dairy Bar on Euclid Ave. After her retirement, she was the housekeeping supervisor at Bristol Nursing Home. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and was active in the Ladies Bible Study.
Louise always loved her trips to Myrtle Beach, spending the month of October for the past 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Phillippie Sr.; sisters, Ruby Monger and Joan Cease; brother, Jackie Galliher; son-in-law, Pete Chandler; and great-granddaughter, Logan Wade.
Survivors include: Children: Bob Phillippie and wife, Linda, Betty Whitten, Patty Chandler, Wanda Wright and husband, Gary, Eddie Phillippie and wife, Susan; Grandchildren: Richie, Robbie, Sean, Creg, Becky, Deena, Jeff, Rachael and Madi; Great-Grandchildren: Melody, Matthew, Nathaniel, Chase, Lucas, Coty, Corey and Austin; Great-Great-Granddaughter: Mia; Sister: Dorothy Penley; Brother: Billy Galliher and wife, Hope; Several Nieces and Nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, October 24, 2011, at 8:00 P.M. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Shaffer and Rev. Eddie Zimmerman officiating.
The burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 PM prior to the service.
