Lillian Hughes, Jonesborough

Lillian L. Hughes, 87, 135 Debbie Circle, Jonesborough passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the residence.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a daughter of the late Jadie and Verna Estep Hurley.
Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker and was a longtime member of The Y Freewill Baptist Church, where she had served as Secretary-Treasurer for many years. She was also very active in the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Hughes loved her church and church family very much. She loved listening and singing Southern gospel music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Hughes, in 1971; a sister, Virginia Howell; a brother, R.G. Hurley; a sister-in-law, Ina Hurley; and a brother-in-law, John Howell.
Survivors include a brother, Floyd Hurley, of Jonesborough; a niece, Donna Osborne and her husband, Kenneth, Johnson City; a great-niece, Alyssia Osborne; and a great-nephew, Bryan Osborne.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hughes will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 22, 2011, in The Y Freewill Baptist Church, 1001 Antioch Road, Johnson City, with the Rev. Glen Hoilman and Rev. Paul Crowe officiating.
Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 1:00 PM until the service time.
