The Rev. Harry Tindell, Bristol, Tenn.

BRISTOL — Rev. Harry Preston Tindell, 74, went to be with the Lord on October 10th at his home in Bristol, Tn.
He was born on December 5, 1936, in Knoxville, TN. He was a United Methodist minister, recently retiring after fifty years of service. He was a graduate of the University of TN, Knoxville, and Emory Theological Seminary. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Bristol, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Grady Tindell; and by his son, John Wesley Tindell.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hayes Tindell; a daughter, Sherry Tindell Johnson and husband, Van; and a brother, Ronald Tindell and wife, Linda. He also had two children by marriage, Melanie Tadlock Buhls and husband, Pete, and Greg Tadlock and wife, Tammy. His grandchildren are Kelleye Sloan Swanson and husband, Eric, Matthew Johnson, Lexie Johnson, Sarah Parks, Peter B. Buhls and Christian Tadlock. He had two great grandchildren, Evan and Cody Swanson.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 17th, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 105 North Street, Bristol, Va., with Rev. Gale Flanary officiating.
Per Rev. Tindell’s wishes, his body will be donated to James H. Quillen College of Medicine at ETSU.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church.
