Millard Winston Redford, Bradenton, Fla.

BRADENTON, Fla. — Millard Winston Redford, 92, of Bradenton, Fla., passed away September 28, 2011.
Born in Franklin, Va., Millard was a graduate of VPI 1940, valedictorian of his class. He was employed by American Viscose Corporation for 20 years and was plant manager at its closing in 1958 in Roanoke and transferred to the home office in Philadelphia.
He subsequently served as plant managers of other manufacturing plants in Danville, Illinois and North American Rayon in Elizabethton, Tennessee, ultimately turning to banking as Vice President of First Peoples Bank in Johnson City, Tennessee, and on the staff at University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
He served on the boards of many charities during his lifetime, finally retiring in his 80s.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Abbott, Anne Roberts and Rebecca Redford; grandchildren, Rebecca Clarke, Elizabeth Wilkins and Stephen Zarich; and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Landon Zarich and Hudson and Mason Wilkins.
