Eunice McCoy, Jonesborough

Ms. Eunice Keefauver McCoy, age 82, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Ms. McCoy was a daughter of the late Robert & Fannie Milhorn Keefauver. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert McCoy; one sister, Edith Clark; and two brothers, Bill Keefauver and Gene Keefauver.
Survivors include a son, Joe McCoy and wife, Cathy; daughters, Elizabeth McCoy and Jeanette McCoy Miller; daughter-in-law, Belinda McCoy; grandchildren, Christy Gibbs, Laura Johnson, Julia Haston, Tyler McCoy and Jonathan Miller; great-granddaughter, Tia Laws; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Ms. McCoy received a B.S. Degree from ETSU in 1954. She taught school in Arlington, VA, and Jonesboro High School. She served as a Hostess at the Jonesborough Visitor’s Center until she retired in 1997. She was an avid reader. She supported the Washington County Library and was a member of the Friends of the Library.
Her church membership was at Central Christian Church of Jonesborough, however in recent years attended Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church.
A special thanks to her caregiver, Melissa Painter, and to her loyal friends and previous employees, Lois Kyker, Sara Ferguson and Jenia Saylor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Perry Cleek officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Highland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler McCoy, Jonathan Miller, Mike Johnson, William Haston, Alan Keesecher and Dr. Dan Slonaker.
