Floyd Milton Foster, age 86, of Gray, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011, after a short illness at JCMCH.
Mr. Foster was a son of the late Flossie Higgins and Joseph Foster. He was born in Erwin, TN, in 1925 and spent most of his adult life in Washington County.
Mr. Foster worked in a supervisory position for the Johnson City Water Department and attended Gravel Hill Church. He loved fishing and working in his garden and was one of the most unselfish people you could ever know.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Ruby Watts Foster; three sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Don Foster, of Limestone; two daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Patrick Hamilton, of Limestone, and Charlotte Wheelock, of Gray; five grandchildren, Buffy Preciado, Nikki and Rusty Head, Wendy and Chris Arnold, Tonya Smith and LeShay Foster; thirteen great-grandchildren, Cody and Hunter Preciado, Jessie Wheelock, Logan Taylor, Jacob Arnold, Abbie Forbes, Cameron Smith, Layton Smith, Hannah and Hailey Smith, LeMiah Foster and Josh and Rob Arnold; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the 2400 staff of JCMCH and a special thank you to Dr. Andrew Poret for his care and compassion of their loved one during his last hours.
Mr. Foster’s family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel and funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Richie Honeycutt officiating.
A family graveside service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Tri Cities Memory Gardens.
