Joseph Garden Jr., Johnson City

Mr. Joseph Bryan Garden Jr., 80, of Johnson City, passed away with his loved ones surrounding him on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Garden was a native of Washington County.
He served in the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vida Marie Love Garden; his father, Joseph Bryan Garden Sr.; and a brother, John Garden.
He was a Freewill Baptist and attended many churches during the 17 years with his New Beginning Gospel Quartet.
He enjoyed billiards, fishing, being outdoors and playing his harmonica.
Survivors include; his wife of 59 years, Savannah Ruth Peters Garden; five children, Sandra Roberts, of Knoxville, Jackie Garden, of Johnson City, Kenith Garden, of Telford, Jeff Garden, of Johnson City, and Angie McQueen, of Johnson City; thirteen Grandchildren; sixteen Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Lenny Smith will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jackie Garden, Kenith Garden, Danny Miller, Chris Roberts, Gary Roberts and Charles McQueen.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
