Patricia Rowan, Johnson City

Patricia Moss Rowan, 82, Johnson City, died peacefully at her home Monday, October 10, 2011.
Mrs. Rowan was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City.
She was a daughter of the late John Perdue and Madge Mynatt Lewis.
Mrs. Rowan was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed being a member of the Tuesday Bridge Club for over forty years and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Johnson City.
Mrs. Rowan lived a fruitful and active life, enjoyed tennis, where she excelled, ballet, and was a wonderful cook.
Her life’s joy was her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Lewis Cornett.
Mrs. Rowan is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Robert M. Rowan; her three sons, Harry Cowan Moss III and wife, Marcy, Atlanta, GA, John Perdue Moss, Nashville, Bernard Sampson Moss and wife, Meredith, Knoxville; her two daughters, Jane Cravens Moss, Johnson City, Sallie Gaines Moss Henson and husband, Richard, Knoxville; one niece, Katherine Patricia Cornett, Knoxville; ten adored (& adoring) grandchildren, Arch & Allison Jones, Kate & Jonathan Barker, Joshua & Gaines Henson, Ali & Turner Moss, McCleary & Sampson Moss, Gillian & Aaron Moss; two great-grandchildren, Camren & Samuel Jones; two step-sons, Robert Rowan & wife, Maureen, Knoxville, David Rowan & wife, Donna, Johnson City; several additional nieces & nephews.
The graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at 3:00 P.M. in Monte Vista Memorial Park, with the Reverend Bedford Transou officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:30 P.M. in the East Parlor of the Appalachian Funeral Home.
