William Johnson, Johnson City

William B. “Bill” Johnson, 79, Johnson City, went to be with Jesus Thursday, October 6, 2011, at his residence.
A native of Washington County, he was a son of the late James L. and JessieViene Watson Johnson. He was an active member of First Christian Church, Elizabethton, until his health would not permit. He retired from Baxter Labs and was a retired USA Army Veteran of 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda Pierce Johnson; Three Sons: Wm. Wade and wife, Regina, of Kingsport, Rick W., of Gray, and Keith, of Johnson City; One Grandson; Benjamin Wade.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Brent Nidiffer, David Slayton and Dr. C. Dwayne Baird officiating. Music will be provided by Gary Simerly. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Friday, will be: Bob Blevins, Jason Wiseman, Randy Lewis, Dwight Douglas, Tom Willens, Wayne Story and Bill Harvey.
The family would like to offer grateful Thanks to Amedisys Home Health and Amedisys Hospice also to Dr. David Jones, Dr. Jim Goss, Dr. Mark Williams and all staff of Physicians.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Johnson to the First Christian Church Choir, ℅ Gene Estep, 513 Hattie Avenue, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.
Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion & Tennessee National Guard. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Friday.
