‘Sam’ Rasnake, Unicoi

UNICOI — Samuel “Sam” Rasnake, age 68, of Unicoi, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center after a five year battle with Melanoma Skin Cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hoffman Rasnake; his daughter, Samantha Ann Rasnake; his mother, Veneta Kibler; his brother, Ronald Ray Rasnake; and his uncle, George W. Wright.
Sam lived and worked as a general contractor in Unicoi County, where he served as Chairman of the Planning Commission for the Town of Unicoi. He worshipped at Maranatha Tabernacle, Unicoi, TN, where a memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor E.L Wheeler officiating. Music will be under the direction of Beth Lingerfelt and Queenie Wheeler.
The family will receive friends at the church from 4:30 until 6:00 P.M. prior to the memorial service.
The family asks that in lieu of flower condolences, contributions be made to the Vacation Bible School Fund of Maranatha Tabernacle, ℅ E.L Wheeler, 122 Timber Ridge Rd., Erwin, TN 37650.
The family would like to express gratitude to the many people who visited and faithfully prayed for him. Sam was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
