David Roy Hurt, Annapolis, Md.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — David Roy Hurt died September 20 in Annapolis with family.
He was born Jan. 22, 1938, in Johnson City, TN, to Juanita Alice Patrick Hurt Painter and Roy Hurt. Starting his career in the U.S. Naval Reserves as an aviation mechanic, he later worked in the computer and aerospace industries doing mechanical design. After retirement, he was an innkeeper and truck driver.
David loved his family, building things, singing opera, playing jazz piano, boating, the art of clowning, photography and travel, and made many good friends in doing so.
He is survived by two daughters, Vicki Hurt, of Annapolis, and Michelle Hurt, of Rochester, NY; son, David R. Hurt Jr.; daughter-in-law, Kim; granddaughter, Brianna, of Fredericksburg, VA; and mother to his children and friend, Freda Francum, of Richmond, VA.
The family is currently planning a life celebration event for family and friends in both Virginia and Tennessee. For more information, contact the family at
