Gladys Simerly, Roan Mountain

ROAN MOUNTAIN — Gladys Marie Simerly, 79, Roan Mountain, passed away Tuesday September 27, 2011, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Delie Townsend Stevens. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Simerly was a member of the Sunrise Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 17 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband: John H. Simerly; Three Sons: Johnny K. Simerly and fiancé, Lori Tester, Jeffery L. Simerly and wife, Thelma, and Michael N. Simerly and wife, Susie, all of Roan Mountain; A special daughter-in-law: Darlene Simerly; Her grandchildren: Amy Salvatore, Tonya Cole, Jonathan, Jacob, Allison and Austin; Her Great Grandchildren: Madison, Cheyenne and Aaron; A brother & sister-in-law: Lawrence & Hazel Stevens, Elizabethton.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Billy Morgan and Rev. Perry Markland officiating.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hall Cemetery. Music will be provided by Tyron Powell. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday.
