James M. West, Bluff City

James “Jim” “J.M.” Morgan West, age 77, of the Hickory Tree community of Bluff City, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 25, 2011. He was born on June 21, 1934 in Keokee, VA where he lived until around the age of 12. He lived most of his life in Washington County, TN and later moved to Piney Flats and Bluff City where he lived for several years until his death. He was a retired carpenter and millwright worker for over forty five years. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, flea-marketing and collecting antiques. He loved being with family and friends. He was loved and admired more than he will ever know. He was preceded in death by his father, Bishop West and mother, Juanita Williams West, three sisters, Margaret Frye, Helen Meade and Jean Riddle. two children, Randy West and Lori West, two grandchildren, Emily Lauman and James Williamson.
Survivors include:
Wife: Wilma Hartley Pittman West, who loved and cared for him to the end
One Brother: F. B. West
Five children: Ronald West, Trevia Bise, Kathy Eggers, Cindy Neal and Jim Allen West
Three Step-children: Misty Williamson, Sherry Bullock and Keith Pittman
Several in-laws, nephews and nieces
Fifteen Grandchildren and Twelve Great Grandchildren
At Jim’s request, his body will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 27, 2011at the Weaver Funeral Home.
