Robert Hutchens, Elizabethton

Robert Frederick Hutchens, 80, of Elizabethton passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 25, 2011.

He was a native of Chicago, IL, and lived in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Florida and North Carolina before he moved to NE Tennessee, a location he loved.

He was the son of the late Harold and Luida Hutchens. He was preceded in death by his brother Harold D. Hutchens.

He worked as a truck driver most of his life. He served his country in the USMC during the Korean Conflict and in China. He was a member of the Chosin Few and the DAV.

He leaves his wife of thirty years, Dora Hutchens; brother David Hutchens of St. Petersburg, FL; and daughters Robin Hutchens, Patti Hutchens, Sandy Guzy, and Kristi Hutchens, all of CA; and son Kevin Hutchens, of OK, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves his mother-in-law Hazel Birkhimer, of the house.

A graveside inurnment will be conducted at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee at a later time.
