William Shipley, Gray

William “Bill” “Dub” Shipley, age 69, of Gray, TN, passed away September 22, 2011, at his residence after a courageous battle of cancer with his loving family by his side.
He was a lifelong construction worker, a Baptist by faith, and served in the U.S. Army. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was a son of the late Cecil and Mary Cross Shipley. In addition to his parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Helen Adams Shipley; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Terri Shipley, of Gray; daughters and son-in-law, Pam and Craig Williams, of Jonesborough, Tammy Draper and Kathy Hyatt; four brothers and four sisters; a very special grandson, Izayah “little bohunk” Shipley; grandsons, Travis Shipley and Zachary Williams; granddaughters, Ginger Shipley and Rachel Williams.
The family would like to thank Caris Healthcare, especially Angela Williams.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Gray Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor Gary Hodge officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Shipley, Donnie Shipley, Johnny Miller, Mike Persinger, Zachary Williams and Travis Shipley.
In lieu of flowers any donations would be appreciated to help offset expenses for the family.
