A. Ray Trivette, Johnson City

On Sept. 11, 2011, A. Ray Trivette, 87, of Johnson City, joined his wife of 64 years, Florence, in the presence of the Lord.
Ray was born in Butler, TN, August 19, 1924. He was the son of the late Roy and Rose Trivette and the brother of the late Bill Trivette. He was the brother of Anna Trivette Dugger, who survives him.
Ray was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran, having served in the European Theater during WWII under General Patton.
He and Florence were avid “railroaders” and members of the Watauga Historical Society. They traveled the railroads of America and Europe.
Ray is survived by his three daughters, Patsy Bacon (Buck), Teresa Utley (Bob) and Jennifer Underwood. Also his grandchildren: Tracy Bacon Hensley, Sandra Bacon James, Sheri Bacon Susong, Joy Utley Daniel, Kristofer Utley, Barrett Utley, Jarad Underwood (Megan), Gunar Underwood (Ora); great-grandchildren, Brittany Sexton, Peyton Sexton, Mack Susong, Lily Daniel, Gracen Daniel and Colton Underwood. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special and loving thank you to Rose Lee, LPN, Tagan Hamm, CNA, and David Collins, CNA, for the loving care they provided to Ray in his home.
There will be a memorial service for Mr. Trivette Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at 2:30 PM at Washington County Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mountain View Baptist Church youth organizations.
