Ruth Hintz, Johnson City

Mrs. Ruth Florine Hintz, 92, of 915 Grady Drive, Johnson City TN 37604, passed away on September 6, 2011.
Born in Cuba City WI, to Frank Churchill and Irene Bower Florine, she earned a BA from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where she lived for 50 years. After raising her 3 girls, she worked as the Executive Secretary for the Wisconsin Student Association and for Fraternity Buyers Cooperative, where she became the Director.
A gourmet cook, she shared beautifully crafted Christmas cookies with many. She also made special dog cookies for the many dogs who shared her love through the years. She had a passion for crossword puzzles and other word games.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ferd Paul Hintz, in 1985; an infant sister; and step-son Philip Ganote.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Cynthia (Cindy) Hintz (Dr. Charles Ganote), of the home, Katherine Hintz, of Hollywood, FL, and Melissa Hintz (James Trapp), of Shaker Heights, OH; a sister, Prof. Felicia Campbell, of Blue Diamond, NV, and her 3 children; step-sons, Stephen Ganote (Felicia), of Washington, DC, and their 3 children, and David Ganote, of Chandler AZ.
